Digital Acropolis Museum
The Acropolis Museum has dynamically entered the world of digital technology, opening up new avenues of communication with its audience, both domestically and internationally. Within the framework of the project “Creation of the Digital Acropolis Museum,” a plethora of applications have been developed that highlight the multifaceted aspects of its exhibits and offer unique experiences to museum visitors.
As a tool for the digital preservation and management of its collections, the Acropolis Museum has been using the MuseumPlus collection management system since 2014. Within this system, 27,755 digital files have been transferred, connected to 10,557 objects, including all those presented in its exhibition spaces.
The MuseumPlus is constantly enriched with new entries, serving as the backbone for collection management and the basis for organizing exhibitions, producing interactive materials, games, and publications. Additionally, it offers the possibility of data export to the Acropolis Museum’s website, providing the public with free access to scientific and research material.
