Museum Organization of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki (MOMus)
Multifacetted Project
Digital Metropolitan Museum – Museum Organization of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki (MOMus)
On the occasion of its five-year anniversary, MOMus inaugurated the digitization and documentation of works from its collections, as well as the development of digital applications, aiming both to preserve the cultural heritage of its museums and to enrich visitors’ experience beyond conventional viewing methods.
PostScriptum, on behalf of MOMus, implemented the digitization and documentation of works from the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Thessaloniki Photography Museum, and the Alex Mylona Museum through the internationally recognized MuseumPlus platform, following international documentation standards.
Simultaneously, it developed curated virtual exhibitions, 360° virtual tours, interactive applications, interactive documentaries, and digital interpretive exhibits, educational videos, and digital games for children, shaping together with the hundreds of digitized artworks a multi-layered program of digital actions in alignment with contemporary practices in art and cultural management.
The project “Digital Metropolitan Museum – Museum Organization of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki (MOMus)” was implemented through the Operational Program “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation” (EPAnEK) 2014-2020, co-funded by Greece and the European Union (European Regional Development Fund – ERDF).
